Dungeons & DoomKnights Now Available On Steam And Switch

Artix Entertainment’s AdventureQuest MMO has been charming online gamers for over 20 years. Now its characters are making a leap back in time to star in their own authentically 8-bit adventure, programmed for the Nintendo Entertainment System (and originally released as a fully functional NES cart). It’s Dungeons & DoomKnights!

Our lead hero (?) Artix returns home on a flying dragon to find…his home no longer exists. It’s been destroyed! Not only that, there’s an army of skeletons roaming around, and locals say the DoomKnight may have been responsible. What can Artix do but take up his axe, whistle for his loyal Pomeranian and venture out to lay the smack down on the undead?

“We’re thrilled to be working with [publisher] Nami Tentou on this release,” says creator Adam Bohn. “It really is the very best way to experience AdventureQuest 8-Bit: Dungeons & DoomKnights … other than playing on an original NES, that is!”

  • Retro gaming done right: Re-experience the 8-bit magic of the original NES release.
  • Huge world to explore: 500+ screens between Overworld and Underworld.
  • 2 additional games: Try ChronoKnight and NecroNancy for the first time!
  • 3 mods: Venture into the Dungeons & Daimyo, Pacadin, and Black & White Chaos mods – if you dare.
  • Gameplay variety: Bosses, puzzles, upgrades, and more!
  • Pick your poison: Adjust your aspect ratio options and make sure to try the CRT filter!
  • Become an official expert in the unofficial: Gain access to Pretendo Empower – the “unofficial official” source for Dungeons & DoomKnights tips and tricks.

Previously an NES exclusive, Dungeons & Doomknights is now available on Steam and in the Nintendo Switch eShop. The Switch version is currently 25% off for a limited time. Look for an interview on Popgeeks with series creator Bohn and lead programmer Dale Coop later this week.

Interesting concept for an article! Looking for something with a strong female lead? "Bad Thief, Good Thief" with Seohyun might be worth checking out. Though the rating on My Drama List is decent for most of these, I always take Viki ratings with a grain of salt. Maybe I'll do some more research before diving in. How about Noona Genre Kdramas, Noona are those Kdrama with older female leads with younger love interests.

Ooh, "Bad Thief, Good Thief" sounds right up my alley! I love a good Robin Hood-esque story, especially with a side of family and fighting corruption. Plus, the high rating on Viki has me sold. Though, gotta admit, "Bad Guy" (2010) with Kim Nam-Gil is tempting too. Dude's a fantastic actor. This list is dangerous for my weekend plans... decisions, decisions

Bad Guys was pure adrenaline! The action sequences were off the charts, and the characters were so complex. Ma Dong-Seok as Park Woong-Cheol was a total badass! I still quote his lines sometimes. The plot twists kept me guessing till the end.

"Bad Guys: Vile City" was a worthy sequel! The plot was darker and more intricate. Joo Jin-Mo's character was chilling, and Kim Hong-Fa was brilliant as the tough-as-nails detective. It was a binge-worthy series, but the ending left me wanting more."The Bad Guys: Reign of Chaos" was a solid action flick. The car chases and fight scenes were awesome. Kim Sang-Joong and Ma Dong-Seok reprising their roles was a treat for fans. The plot was straightforward, but the execution was top-notch.

Okay, so I've seen all these shows, and I gotta say, the "Bad" series really delve into some dark stuff. "Bad Guy" was a rollercoaster of emotions. Kim Nam-Gil's character was complex, you know? Like, you kinda hated him, but at the same time, you understood why he was doing what he was doing. The revenge plot was intense, but it also showed how one bad decision can spiral into a whole mess of trouble. The ending was bittersweet, though.

"Bad Guys" was a different kind of thrill. It was like watching a bunch of broken people trying to piece their lives back together while also catching criminals. Park Hae-Jin's character was so mysterious, and Ma Dong-Seok was just pure power. The show tackled some heavy issues like corruption and the justice system, but it also had its funny moments.

I've seen all these shows, and they were pretty good. "Bad Guy" was intense. The revenge thing was a bit much, but the characters were interesting. I liked the whole rich kid turned bad boy thing. It was kinda dramatic, but I guess that's the point.

"Bad Guys" was a wild ride. All those crazy characters trying to work together? It was like herding cats. But it was also kinda cool seeing how they figured things out. And Ma Dong-Seok? That guy is a beast.

"Bad Guys: Vile City" was darker, but I still liked it. The plot was twisted and turned, but I couldn't stop watching. It was like one of those puzzle games that you just can't put down.

These "Bad" series are interesting studies of character and society. "Bad Guy" explores themes of identity, revenge, and the corrupting influence of wealth. Kim Nam-Gil's performance was captivating, showcasing the character's internal turmoil.

Thank you. I got the idea from searching for Kdramas to watch. When you put a term in the search box, all of these different titles pop out. I noticed there were lots of Kdramas with “good” in the title and they are usually pretty good to watch. The “bad: Kdramas were also good. LOL.
