Dub version of Squid Game had more audience than the sub one
Dub vs Sub debate is very common to Anime fans. Anime is the foreign content that gets the most dub versions. Critics had destroyed the dub version but there is a silent majority that watches dub. Many people just don’t have the attention span to read subtitles. Dubbing live-action shows is still new for American productions. Usually, a foreign content must get a Hollywood remake first before it becomes translated into the English language. The other dub version that is not English has more praise. European, Latins, and Asians had been dubbing American content and another foreign content way before Americans. Most Americans have to settle for subtitles when it comes to live-action foreign films and television.

Back in the 1970s, Americans did consume some dubbed content, Usually, Kung-Fu movies and European films but were so unpopular that people preferred subtitles. Other countries have more seasoned and experience live-action dubbers so their dub quality is better. 60 percent of the people who watch Squid Game have chosen the English voice version. The original has better quality but some people just don’t want to read subtitles. Netflix is promising to improve the quality of the voice acting on their future projects. Back in the 90s, the English dubbed version of most Anime is terrible. That caused a Psychological stigma people to have with English voice acting. Anime dubbing had improved quality over the years but many people still prefer sub. Ironically, the English voice acting audience is a silent majority. The Dub-squad is just more vocal online.
