Blizzard Entertainment announced that the upcoming console version of Diablo 3, Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition, will run at 1080p on PlayStation 4 (which was previously announced), and run at 900p on the Xbox One. Senior Producer for the console versions of Diablo 3, Julia Humphreys, confirmed this in an interview with Joystiq at E3.
“We’re prioritizing frame rate,” Humphreys said regarding the resolution difference.
Both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will run at 60 frames per second.
Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition is scheduled to release August 19 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Along with the original game and the expansion, Reaper of Souls, the PS4 version will include infected enemies from The Last of Us, and a Shadow of the Colossus transmog set.
