Dead Rising 3 Studio Working With Unreal Engine 4
Capcom and Capcom Game Studio Vancouver seem to have something big in the works. The publisher announced this week that the Capcom Game Studio Vancouver will be partnering with Eic Games to use the Unreal Engine 4 for upcoming projects. So far the details on these projects are vague, but it will be interesting to see what they all have in store.
Capcom Game Studio Vancouver recently worked on the Xbox One exclusive title Dead Rising 3. One imagines one of these projects could be the latest installment in the zombie action franchise, Dead Rising. In addition, the press release also confirmed that the studio is hiring new staff to join its team for these upcoming games. They are looking for developers and “talented professionals who are familiar with the popular game engine and have the desire to create incredible new gameplay experiences.” You can learn more about the positions they are seeking to fill at this link.
Speaking on the announcement, Capcom Game Studio Vancouver Director Joe Nickols stated: “We have some ambitious visions for where we want to take our next games and while our previous proprietary engine served the needs for the projects at the time, shifting to Unreal Engine 4 delivers the right tools for our future direction. Not only will we be developing on a powerful and versatile platform, we’ll also work closely with the team at Epic to maximize the capabilities of the latest and greatest technology. Using this industry leading engine also allows us to quickly integrate new talent onto our projects so that we can focus on pioneering new world class entertainment.”
It will be interesting to see what Capcom Vancouver has in store for the Unreal Engine 4 and its upcoming projects. More details on the games will be revealed later on. Dead Rising 3 was released for the Xbox One and was later release for Windows PC as well.
