DC Comics Solicitations May 2022

May is….not exactly around the corner, but it never hurts to be prepared. Here’s everything DC is planning to release three months from now.

Imagine if a Superman-sized crisis hit the Earth…and Superman went missing at the same time. That’s the situation facing Batman and the Justice League in Batman: Fortress, a new story written by Gary Whitta and illustrated by Darick Robertson. An alien spaceship has entered Earth’s atmosphere and it’s causing disturbances and fluctuations in the global communications system, along with power blackouts. This means Batman has his hands full just keeping thieves from robbing Gotham blind, but he’s also got to figure out what happened to his friend — and if the aliens had something to do with it. The first of eight issues goes on sale May 24.

Welcome to the JURASSIC LEAGUE! It’s an alternate Earth where everyone’s a DINOSAUR — including Superman, which means Krypton was full of dinosaurs as well, we guess. These reptilian superheroes are about to face their biggest threat when Darkseid arrives…but what species is HE? Find out when the first of six issues comes to comic shops May 10.

Speaking of Darkseid (the non-dinosaur one)…in DANGER STREET, a 12-issue story from writer Tom King and artist Jorge Fornes, Starman, Metamorpho, and Warlord dream of becoming official members of the Justice League. But to prove their mettle they would have to do something outrageously heroic…like challenge Darkseid! This, uh, doesn’t turn out to be a good idea. Find out what happens next when the first issue goes on sale May 3.

Looking for a new hero? Think about picking up DUO…the superhero that’s two for the price of one! Dr. Kelly Vu and Dr. David Kim are genius scientists…and happily married. But their bond is about to become a lot stronger (in more ways then one) when their nanobot experiment goes haywire and combines them into one being! Is this development for better or worse? DC’s newest hero comes from writer Greg Pak and artists Koi Pham and Scott Hanna, and arrives May 17.

Cross Aquaman with the horror movie Surface and you might get something like Aquaman: Andromeda, the three-issue series coming your way from writer Ram V and artist Christian Ward. They call Point Nemo the “spaceship graveyard” — nations of the world send their spaceships under the sea when they retire them, where they float down. But not everything in the Spaceship Graveyard appears to be dead…nor does the presence there appear to be human. Find out how Aquaman deals with this when the first 48-page issue arrives June 7.
