“Crazy Love” is a 2022 Korean drama series, with 16 episodes, streaming on Disney Plus/Hulu, and can be categorized as Workplace or Office, Mystery, Romance, and Comedy.

SUMMARY: In “Crazy Love”, a CEO wakes up after a hit-an-run accident and is told that his secretary is his fiancée. He has amnesia and desn’t even remember his own name. So if his secretary says she’s the bride-to-be, he just has to take her word for it. Only … she’s not really his bride-to-be and only said that so she wouldn’t get arrested. She’s faking! How long will she be able to keep up the act? Suppose she actually falls in love with him and he finds out she lied? Suppose he was was faking his amnesia and knew she had been lying all along?

♦ The Boss From Hell is Killing Me!

In “Crazy Love”, Noh Go-Jin is CEO of GOTOP, and if you asked his secretary Lee Shin-A to describe him, she would easily say with absolutely no reservations that he is THE BOSS FROM HELL!! One would never think they would eventually fall in love with each other.

The President Noh Go-Jin you see today is not the Noh Go-Jin from the past. He had very humble beginnings. He lost his parents at a young age, was raised by his grandmother and then she died. His first love abandoned him and his reputation was almost destroyed by lies that had been spread about him. On the plus side, he did have one friend who stuck with him through thick and thin: the Vice-President of GOTOP, Oh Se-Gi. They were even closer than blood brothers. At least, that’s what Noh Go-Jin thought until …

Lee Shin-A lasted much longer than the president’s other secretaries. Most did not make it to 3 months. Lee Shin-A lasted for a whole year. She had a career goal and working as the president’s secretary was a stepping stone. She wanted to become an instructor and working at GOTOP allowed her to gain exposure to how educational companies operated. But how did she do it? She last for a year working as Noh Go-Jin because she was determined and because she kept a lot of medicine in her desk drawer. She took pills for terrible headaches, for her nerves, etc. No matter how awful her boss was she made it through each day.

How Did the Secretary Get Engaged to the Boss?

One day Lee Shin-A’s doctor told her that she had cancer and only six months to live. The doctor told her that sometimes stress can trigger cancer and asked her when did she start having headaches. It was about a year ago, the same time she started working for President Noh Go-Jin. She connected her diagnosis with the ill-treatment she received from her boss and decided that she had had enough!! She went directly to the home of her boss and did not hold back, spouting about everything she had been wanting to scream at him and even hitting him on the head with an onion. The president did not like onions.

When she left his home, Noh Go-Jin chased after her. But someone was waiting for him and hit him with their car. At the time of the accident he was talking with Lee Shin-A on the phone. When he stopped talking Lee Shin-A turned back. When she arrived at his home he was lying on the ground, unconscious and bleeding. Oh no! This wasn’t what Lee Shin-A wanted. Sure she was angry but she didn’t want him to die.

Lee Shin-A called for an ambulance and stayed by his side in the hospital. When Noh Go-Jin regained consciousness, a lot had happened. But he said he couldn’t remember anything. In other words, he had amnesia. Well! Since he can’t remember anything, Lee Shin-A announced that she was his fiancée. She had to think of something quick because the police were about to arrest her for being the one who intentionally hit the president with her car.

From that point forward she had to fake being his bride-to-be. Everybody around him, including Lee Shin-A and his BFF, Vice-President Oh Segi, and others believed he had lost his memories. But what if Noh Go-Jin was faking his amnesia? If he was faking … WHY?

Viewership and Rating:

  • IMDb: 7.3 out of 10 stars
  • MyDramaList: 8.2 out of 10 stars
  • Dramabeans: 8.6 out of 10 stars
  • FilmAffinity: 5.5 out of 10 stars

My personal rating is 9 out of 10 stars.

I agree with the quote above. If I were rating this Korean drama for the soundtrack, adorable cuteness, and chemistry between the lead characters, it would be 10 out of 10 stars. I was not expecting it to have elements of mystery. “Crazy Love” had romance, lots of comedic scenes, and lots of mystery scenes for you to try to figure out “Who dun it”. One thing the series made clear is that sometimes the unlovable just need to be loved. The other question this series asked is: Who will you forgive and how often?

Lee Shin-A's situation is a total mess! Faking being engaged to your terrible boss? Bold move! But the cancer diagnosis adds a whole new level of complexity. It's a high-stakes game of deception. Will she get caught? Will she actually fall for him? And what if he doesn't remember her at all? This drama sounds like it's filled with unexpected turns. I'm invested!

The friendship between Noh Go-Jin and Oh Se-Gi is interesting. They've been through thick and thin together, but the amnesia twist might put their loyalty to the test. Is Oh Se-Gi really on his side? Or does he have hidden motives? Their dynamic is definitely one to watch. This drama seems to explore the complexities of friendship and how it can be tested in the face of adversity.

Opposites attract, right? A cold, arrogant CEO and his long-suffering secretary seem like an unlikely pair. But there's clearly more to their story than meets the eye. The amnesia plot thickens the mystery. Will they find love amidst the chaos? Or will their differences tear them apart? The chemistry between the leads is going to be crucial. Can they pull off the fake relationship convincingly? I'm excited to see how their characters develop.

Lee Shin-A is playing a dangerous game. Keeping a major secret from someone who has amnesia? That's a recipe for disaster. The pressure must be immense. I wonder how long she can keep up the act, and what will happen when the truth comes out. The stakes are high, and every interaction between her and Noh Go-Jin is filled with tension. This drama seems to be a rollercoaster of emotions, and I'm here for it.

Beyond the romance and mystery, "Crazy Love" seems to offer a glimpse into the cutthroat world of business. The office politics and rivalries are definitely intriguing. How will Noh Go-Jin's amnesia affect his company? Will his vice president, Oh Se-Gi, seize the opportunity to take over? The business side of the story adds another layer of complexity to the drama. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.
