Cover Art For Symbaroum: Davokar Awakens Revealed

Free League‘s Symbaroum series will be getting another expansion later this year. For a while now the company has been releasing a series of expansion books for the TTRPG called Chronicle of the Throne of Thorns, and said series will wrap itself up with the volume Davokar Awakens.

Free League issued this teaser for what’s in store: “She heard herself roar out the order to fall in line, in defense against the Eternal Night, to fight for life and light against the darkness stirring in the depths of Davokar forest. The darkness that for centuries has been fettered by the roots of the woods breaks free and spreads in all directions; the living are faced with a seemingly hopeless fight against a never-ending flood of merciless enemies. But is all hope lost?”

The cover art for Davokar Awakens was revealed today; a moody piece by Free League veterans Martin Grip (The One Ring RPG, Blade Runner RPG, ALIEN RPG) and Gustaf Ekelund (Coriolis, Twilight: 2000, ALIEN RPG). The innards have been designed by game writer Mattias Johnsson Haake, co-creator of Symbaroum.

•   The adventure Davokar Awakens, where the players are given a chance to impact the fight for the Throne of Thorns, and thereby the future of the game world.
•   Maps and descriptions of a dozen adventure locations, brimming with tough challenges, colorful characters, mystical treasures, and historical artifacts.
•   Guidelines for journeys in the awakened Davokar, complemented with new event tables and over a dozen pre-made scenes to introduce where you see fit.
•   A chapter on the battle against the darkness, with descriptions of both defending and attacking units.
•   New treasure tables, new artifacts, and a customized list of mishaps which can affect uninformed or ill-prepared adventurers.

Davokar Awakens, as well as any other volume in the Chronicle of the Throne of Thorns series, is designed to be played either individually as standalone adventures, or as one massive campaign. The book is due out in the fourth quarter of 2023. Preorders are open now with a exclusive digital artbook available for those who slap their money down.

I am suuuuuper hyped to see the first artwork from Symbaroum: Davokar Awakens! The dark and mysterious atmosphere really sets the stage for an epic adventure. Can't wait to dive into the treacherous world of Davokar forest! The artwork by Martin Grip and Gustaf Ekelund is simply neat. It's amazing how they can capture the essence of a dark fantasy world in such vivid detail. I'm already getting a sense of the challenges and wonders that await in this expansion.

The Chronicle of the Throne of Thorns saga is coming to its big finale, and I gotta say, I'm pumped! The stuff they mentioned in the article, like all those adventure spots and event tables, sounds intense. It's gonna keep us on our toes, no doubt. I can't wait to make choices that shape the whole world. This is gonna be epic!

The pre-order bundle with the double-sided adventure maps sounds like a great deal. Having visual guides to navigate the perilous landscapes of Davokar will definitely enhance the immersion. I'll make sure to grab that bundle!

Symbaroum: Davokar Awakens is gonna be totally awesome! It's got everything I love: amazing stories, cool pictures, and super cool new stuff. I'm soooo excited to join in on this one-of-a-kind adventure! Gotta gather my friends and get ready to take on the scary Davokar forest.

The artwork for Davokar Awakens is really impressive! Martin Grip and Gustaf Ekelund have done a wonderful job capturing the game's moody atmosphere. It's fascinating to know that players will have an opportunity to influence the battle for the Throne of Thorns in the adventure Davokar Awakens. I enjoy it when games allow players to have control and shape the world of the game.

I'm always a fan of new treasure tables and artifacts in RPGs. It's exciting to think about the unique items and abilities that players can discover in Davokar Awakens. I wonder what kind of mishaps uninformed adventurers might face!I'm impressed with what I've read about Davokar Awakens. It seems like Free League has put a lot of thought and effort into creating a compelling expansion for Symbaroum.
