Once in a while, those B-movie brainstorming sessions come up with something truly brilliant. “What if we ripped off Jurassic Park and The Walking Dead at the same time? ZOMBIE DINOSAURS!” I want to high-five them from here, in my computer chair.
And what else would you call it? “THE JURASSIC DEAD.” Easy-peasy.
A unit of mercenaries must team up with a group of tech-geek students after American is struck with an EMP attack. Deep in the desert, they find the source of the terror, a mad scientist who has also just created a living dead T-Rex dinosaur, one who turns everyone it attacks into a zombie. Now they must scramble to stay alive and save the planet from the ultimate undead predator.
The Jurassic Dead will star Matt Block, Wes Clark, Julie Crisante and American professional bodybuilder Andy Haman. Milko Davis wrote and directed this one.
Whatever “new” creations are waiting for us in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, I’m skeptical they can beat zombie dinosaurs in concept. Watch for The Jurassic Dead to appear this summer, likely timed alongside the big-screen sequel, courtesy of Wild Eye Releasing.
