Someone created a horror parody of the 1980s comedy classic Caddyshack. I could stop there and you’d probably all be sold, but it’s my job to continue. Caddy Hack is the name of a demented new riff where the gophers aren’t just a pain in the neck, they’re downright murderous.
The movie, of course, takes place at a stuck-up country club where the owners and most of the paying attendees are rich jerks. Worse yet, caddies have been disappearing left and right, and rather that rooting out the cause, the owner is trying to cover it up. But you can only keep an army of fanged gophers with glowing red eyes underground for so long. It’s up to an unhinged groundskeeper (where’s Bill Murray when you need him) to take on the rodent menace.
Caddy Hack stars Jim Gordon, Jake Foy, Chrissy Cavallo, Nick Twist, Ilene Sullivan, and John Evans. The movie was thought up, written and directed by Anthony Catanese, with Sara Casey, Scott Miller, Jim Gordon, Joseph Kuzemka, Rob Hauschild and Cantonese himself serving as producers.
“WELL? WE’RE WAITING.” Hold your horses for a bit. Caddy Hack will premiere at Kevin Smith’s Smodcastle theater in Atlantic Highlands, NJ on August 11, followed by digital, Blu Ray and DVD releases (through Wild Eye) in October. Be on the lookout and we’ll pass along any updates as we get them.
Premiering at Kevin Smith’s Smodcastle theater in Atlantic Highlands, NJ on August 11th…Anthony Catanese’s Caddy Hack! In the film, which Catanese wrote and directed, a struggling golf course suffers a string of caddy murders at the paws of pesticide-mutated gofers, while the greedy owner of the facility tries to cover up the carnage and an unhinged groundkeeper wages all out war on the vicious vermin.
