Black Rock Studio Closes Today

The former Pure and Split/Second developer closes it’s doors for good today.

More after the jump.

In July, Disney made the decision to close Black Rock Studio after rejecting what turned out to be Black Rock’s final game pitch. The final pitch happened to be a freemium RTS game entitled ‘Champions Alliance’ which Disney did not approve and rumour has it, were never going to approve. Today, former Black Rock Studio Director, Nick Baynes marked the official closure of the studio in a tweet.

There is light at the end of the tunnel though, two new studios have been formed out of this closure. The first, ShortRound Games, the second, RoundCube Entertainment. Hopefully both of these studios can continue on in the legacy of Black Rock and we here at Paranoid wish all those employees the best on their future endeavours.
