Black Friday 2018: Target’s Offerings
Halloween’s over, and the holiday shopping season has officially begun….thus Popgeeks begins its annual tradition of reporting the best Black Friday video game deals. Unfortunately, this year’s overview will be a slightly shorter one, as we are down one option (Toys R Us).
Today was the day Target leaked out their Black Friday circular, and there are some good deals involved. To all those fearful of being trampled, my family finished their Thanksgiving feast early last year and I walked right into Target the minute it opened. I can’t speak for your experience, but it was surprisingly calm and orderly in there. I also went back the following day and plenty of their stock was still available (including the TVs) so it doesn’t have to be at that moment.
This year in hardware, Target will sell you:
- Nintendo Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle for $299.99
- PlayStation 4 1TB console with Spider-Man for $199.99
- PlayStation 4 or Xbox One wireless controllers for $39.99
- Starlink: Battle for Atlas for $39.99, with 30 percent off all starship, weapon and pilot packs
- PlayStation VR bundle with camera, two Move controllers and Creed: Rise to Glory and Superhot VR games for $249.99 (This is a $100 discount, but I’m waiting for the inevitable point when these are $50 on clearance)
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on PS4 or Xbox One for $45
In terms of software, Target has:
- Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Forza Horizon 4, Sea of Thieves, Soul Calibur 6, NHL 19 and We Happy Few for $35
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider, WWE 2K19, F1 2018, Fallout 4 GOTY Edition and Naruto to Borutu: Shinobi Striker for $30
- Assassin’s Creed Origins, God of War, Far Cry 5, Call of Duty: WW2, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Detroit: Become Human for $25
- Overwatch, Star Wars Battlefront 2, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Skyrim (XBox One version), Doom, The Evil Within 2, Wolfenstein 2, Farming Simulator, LEGO Jurassic World, NBA Live 19 and Marvel Superheroes 2 for $15
And there may be more than that: Target mentions in the ad that not all the games they plan to discount could fit into the circular. See what you can find!
