Bethesda Softworks held its first ever E3 showcase conference this year. The event was held last night at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California. It’s the same venue where the Academy Awards are held. The publisher has clearly become a major player and revealed some highly anticipated games and new gameplay footage for titles such as the upcoming reboot of DOOM, Dishonored 2 and Fallout 4. Bethesda has already released a good number of the new E3 trailers for those aforementioned titles, which you can check out below.
First up is the upcoming reboot of the classic first-person shooter franchise, DOOM. id Software is developing the new game, which will feature a multiplayer mode and a highly exciting new feature called SnapMap! SnapMap will allow players to customize their own brand new maps and even gameplay modes for the game. Players will be able to share these new maps online. There is a ton of fast-paced action and a variety of weapons based on the footage. The game is due out in Spring 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
Next up is Dishonored 2. Bethesda Softworks and the developers at Arkane Studios released the trailer for the next installment in the Dishonored franchise at the Bethesda E3 Showcase. The new announcement trailer is available below. The game will have two playable characters: Corvo Attano and Emily Kaldwin, and it is set in the coastal city of Karnaca. The choices the players make will have a big impact on the world. The game is due out in Spring 2016 for PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
In addition, Arkhane Studios also announced Dishonored: The Definitive Collection for the next-gen consoles. It will be an upgraded version of the first game that will be packaged with all the DLC content. It’s due out this fall.
A new trailer was shown for the upcoming online multiplayer game, Battlecry. The developers announced that players can now sign up for access to the upcoming global beta. Players who get to play the beta version will receive a special in-game reward.
For fans of the Fallout franchise, Bethesda has just released a new mobile game based on the franchise called Fallout Shelter. The game is available now for iOS at the App Store. The game puts players in control of state-of-the-art underground Vault from Vault-Tec. Essentially, the player is the Overseer. Players can build the perfect Vault, keep your Dwellers happy, and protect them from the dangers of the Wasteland. You can check out a trailer for the mobile game below.
Finally, Fallout 4 was announced for a January 2016 release. The game had a comprehensive preview that was revealed during the showcase, which you can watch in full below. The collector’s edition will even come with a functional Pip Boy device. You can insert your iPhone into the wrist holder, and it gives players their very own Pip Boy. Players can download the official Fallout 4 app, and it will provide some fun second-screen, Fallout role-playing action. In Fallout 4, players take the role of the last sole survivor of Vault 111. The survivor emerges 200 years after a nuclear war to explore the wasteland. You can play as a fully customized male or female character, and you get to adopt a dog. Players can rebuild their township or really play however they want. The game looks like it will have an extreme amount of customization features, even for the Fallout armored suit.
