Bethesda Game Studios Opens Montreal Office
ZeniMax Media and Bethesda Game Studios have announced that Bethesda is opening a new office in Montreal, Quebec. The studio aims to expand the development capabilities of Bethesda Game Studios (the developer behind Fallout 4 and Skyrim) in console, PC and mobile gaming.
Bethesda Game Studios Executive Producer and Game Director Todd Howard stated on the announcement: “We’ve worked with some very talented developers in Montreal for a long time, and decided it was time to open a studio there. It’s exciting to think about the new games we’ll be building together.”
According to Bethesda, the new office will be managed by Yves Lachance, who will serve as studio director. Lachance stated on the promotion: “Our collaboration with Bethesda Game Studios has been an exhilarating and memorable journey already. We are thrilled to be launching the studio in Montreal and contributing our city’s great game-making talent to the kind of games that Bethesda Game Studios is known for.”
Bethesda has certainly picked a prosperous year to open a new studio office. Fallout 4, which launched last month, has sold 12 million copies across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. Not to mention, the studio received numerous nominations at The Game Awards 2015 as well. One of Bethesda Softworks’ next big titles is the new installment of the DOOM franchise, due out some time next year.
