A gamer who goes by the YouTube handle of jackfrags Battlefield 4 has found a deeply hidden Easter egg for Battlefield 4. The Easter egg is unlockable in the Dragon Valley map, which is quite interesting. It’s a secret camo skin.
Per Eurogamer, there are seven hidden switches on the map that correspond to various lanterns around the building. Each of the switches will then turn on some lanterns on and others off. However, the order is randomized. This is part of a logic puzzle that the the player will have to solve individually. After it’s solved, players will be able to interact with a hidden keypad on a wooden pillar that reveals the following message in Morse Code: “When night falls over the old factory a secret lurks in the openness of the North Woods. Multiple the letters of the longest word and the one after it to form the code.”
The message refers to the Zavod: Graveyard Shift map. There, the player will have to find a rock and will hear a croaking sound. This is actually a hidden audio message that says, “I’ve got little birdy legs.” The players then need to assign numerical values to the words “little” and “birdy.” That value is 83980800000. When that number is put into the keypad after that comes up after solving the lantern puzzle, another Morse Code message comes up: “To claim your prize now join a ranked conquest large game, stand at the west side of the shaft of the north-western water tower for two minutes, then use this individual code there: 131929664…” Each code will be different though.
After the player goes to the water tower, a button will appear, and the player has to press it. A keypad comes up, and the code can be entered, then there will be an audio message that says “Promoted!”
This will unlock a special DICE LA camo skin. This skin was only previously available for Battlefield 4 developers. It seems a lot of work just for an extra skin, but at least players get something for putting in all that effort.
