Fans will have to wait a little longer for the upgraded, remastered version of the Batman: Arkham collection. According to the official Warner Bros. Interactive/WB Games forum, the Batman: Return to Arkham HD remaster collection has been delayed. The collection was set to include upgraded versions of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City for the current console generation.
The collection was originally due out on July 26, 2016. However, now the set has been delayed indefinitely. The set was also slated to include the Game of the Year edition bonus and downloadable content for both games. Per the announcement from WB games:
“After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience. We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready. We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans.”
If the set has been delayed indefinitely, Warner Bros. Interactive should really consider to give fans their money’s worth by adding Arkham Origins as an upgraded and remastered version. Arkham Origins wasn’t really a bad game. It had its issues as launch, but it was perfectly acceptable as a game to hold fans over until Arkham Knight. There’s really no reason the set shouldn’t have Arkham Origins as well.
Batman: Return to Arkham will be released later on for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
