Batman Arkham Knight: New Arkham Insider Video Showcases GCPD Area
Rocksteady Studios has released video No. 5 in its Arkham Insider video blog series for the highly anticipated conclusion in the Batman: Arkham Trilogy, Batman Arkham Knight. The latest Arkham Insider video, Gotham by Night, is available in the player below.
The video features new gameplay footage and an interview with the game’s Player Code Director, Adam Doherty. The latest footage offers a look at the depth of the game’s combat, including new takedowns and combos using the Batclaw gadget. Players will also be able to execute some massive height and momentum if they launch into a glide using the Batmobile’s afterburner engine. The height and size of the open-world sandbox for Gotham City in the game looks utterly fantastic and above and beyond anything the franchise has depicted before.
One thing that is not too realistic though is the absolute wrecklessness by which Batman utilizes the Batmobile. There is a shot of footage in the player below where Batman summons the Batmobile and it swerves around a street corner knocking a group of thugs across the screen like they are bowling pins. Despite Batman’s “non-lethal” methods and his “no killing” rule, there is no way thugs are not dead from such a move in real life. However, this is a video game, so players should probably not be too concerned about it.
The video also offers an expanded look at the GCPD building area. This is the last major stronghold for the GCPD during the events of the game. It appears Batman has free reign to stop by and even store the Batmobile there. Villains and criminals Batman will catch in the game will be put in holding cells.
The wait for Batman Arkham Knight is almost over. The game finally hits the shelves on June 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
