Batman: Arkham Knight Gameplay Trailer

Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment have today released the first Batman – Arkham Knight gameplay trailer. The trailer, which can be viewed below, is the first time gamers have seen gameplay footage since the game was announced. The press release from Warner Brothers and DC gave a brief description of the trailer.

“The Official Batman: Arkham Knight Gameplay Trailer – “Evening the Odds” showcases Scarecrow’s return to Gotham City as he schemes to unite the Rogues Gallery and destroy Batman once and for all.  As the citizens flee and criminal gangs take control, the Dark Knight evens the odds by taking to the streets in the legendary Batmobile to ignite the fight that will decide the future of the city that he is sworn to protect.”

The official Arkham Knight gameplay trailer certainly makes the city of Gotham look beautiful, and it’s nice to see Scarecrow returning after an absence in the most recent games, but it’s the batmobile that will bring forth the child-like excitement within gamers the world over. Developer Rocksteady has already confirmed that players will be able to drive the batmobile for the first time in the successful Arkham series of games. This will also be the first game in which Batman will clean up Gotham streets on the PS4 and Xbox One.

Batman: Arkham Knight will also be the last game developer Rocksteady will produce – they’ve already stated their intentions to move on to other projects after this game, although it’s unclear if another developer will take over the Arkham franchise and produce the next iteration, much like with Batman: Arkham Origins. Either way, the Arkham series of games has celebrated stellar success and can genuinely considered to be one of the best licensed series of games in gaming history.
