Electronic Arts just announced that PS3 users will be getting the first expansion pack: Back to Karkand one week earlier than Xbox users which means Tuesday December 6th.
The prices will be 14.99$ for PS3 and 1200 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360.
In this expansion pack you will get :
- 4 Legendary Battlefield maps (reimagined into the Frostbite2 Engine) which are: Wake Island, Sharqi Peninsula, Gulf of Oman, and Strike at Karkand
- 3 new vehicles :the VSTOL fighter jet, Desert Buggy, and an APC.
- 10 new weapons and also can be used into the base game.
- A new layer of persistence with All-new assignments.
The maps are using the Frostbite 2 Engine and in most of the areas will be able to become razed to the ground. As for the new Assignments system, if you complete a certain number of kills with specific weapons, you will unlock new weapons which can then be used into the new expansion pack and the original Battlefield 3 maps.

Complete Warrior (Silver)
Get a kill with the following weapons in a single life: Rifle, Jet, Tank
Third Tour (Bronze)
Get a kill with the new APC, Desert Buggy, and STOVL fighter jet

Get 10 kills with all B2K weapons
Like a Boss! (Silver)
Get a kill with the skid loader
Jaws (Bronze)
Take a swim in the pool at the Oman hotel
