Here’s something we don’t get very often: a Russian sci-fi thriller. Dark Sky Films is distributing Attraction, a movie about an alien invasion of Moscow, here in the states.

One weekend a giant UFO crashes into the center of Russia’s capital city. It brought passengers with it, and the citizens are unsure how to feel. Some believe the aliens should be welcomed; others fear hostile intentions. Caught in the middle is a young Moscow resident who develops a relationship with one of the aliens, and soon finds herself literally torn between two worlds.

Attraction was directed by filmmaker and actor Fedor Bondarchuk (Stalingrad, Dark Planet). The movie did well enough in its home country to make a sequel possible, which Bondarchuk plans to release in 2019.

Look for Attraction on all home video formats December 4 — Blu-Ray, DVD and VOD.

Moscow finds itself on the brink of destruction after a mysterious spaceship crash-lands in the center of the city. While the government seeks to find out what the ship’s passengers want and how to protect the local population, the rest of the city residents break into conflicting factions. Some view the aliens as a threat that should be extinguished, while others hope that the visitors are peaceful and offer an opportunity to learn more about the world beyond.
When a young woman finds herself torn between her seemingly normal life and the alluring promise offered by one of the all-too-human extraterrestrials, the fate of the entire world is left hanging in the balance.
