Assassin’s Creed Book Compendium Releasing in November
Per Publishers Weekly and Ubisoft, a special book compendium for the Assassin’s Creed series is set to launch next month by Ubisoft’s new book publishing division. There is also going to be a new original story for the series with Assassin’s Creed: Heresy by Christie Golden. The book releases start in November.
This is part of a new in-house book publishing initiative for New Line. First off, there’s the Assassin’s Creed: The Essential Guide. The book is illustrated, and it’s described as a handbook designed for new people to the franchise as well as hardcore, Assassin’s Creed fans. The book will showcase key characters, scenarios and historical settings for the game franchise and series. The book will be available on November 15.
Second, there is Assassin’s Creed: Heresy by Christie Golden. This book releases on November 15. The story follows a modern-day historian and Templar who receives a mission to find Joan of Arc’s Sword. The book is set to feature a new original narrative that is still set within the same mythology as the upcoming movie.
This seems to boost the presence and transmedia for the franchise ahead of the upcoming live-action Assassin’s Creed movie, which arrives in theaters on December 21. The film stars Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. It’s directed by Justin Kurzel. Ubisoft is also going to publish the Assassin’s Creed: The Official Movie Novelization, also written by Christie Golden, on December 21.
