Ant-Man: Ant-Sized Teaser Video Released
Marvel Studios has released an early look at its Ant-Man project with a special, “ant-sized” teaser video. You can watch the special ant-sized first look at the film in the player below.
The miniature look at Marvel’s Ant-Man is the first look at the very first teaser trailer for the film. The full teaser trailer will be released in its normal, full size on Tuesday, January 6 during the two-hour series premiere of Marvel’s Agent Carter on ABC. Agent Carter is set to premiere at 8:00 p.m. ET, so viewers and Marvel fans should keep their eyes peeled during the commercial breaks to get the first look at the Ant-Man film. Thus far, this will be the first look at any official footage to be released from the film. That is not counting test footage shot by the project’s former director, Edgar Wright, that was shown at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con.
The images in the miniature preview are very hard to make out, but there is a full-sized logo of the film at the end of it. The new evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe follows the exploits of master thief Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), who must help his mentor Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) protect the secret of his special Ant-Man suit from a new generation of threats. The two will be forced to face mounting odds in order to pull off a heist to save the world. In Ant-Man’s case, that could supposedly make it the world’s “smallest” heist.
It will be interesting to see if Marvel Studios will be able to pull off the similar magic with Ant-Man that it did with Guardians of the Galaxy, one of the biggest hits of 2014. The Ant-Man character, originally Hank Pym, first debuted in Marvel’s Tales to Astonish in 1962. The character was created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Larry Lieber.
The film also stars Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Michael Pena, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, Tip “Ti” Harris, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, and Jordi Mollà. Marvel’s Ant-Man is due out in theaters on July 17, 2015.
