Alien: Isolation Developers Considering VR Support

With the current push towards virtual reality technology in gaming, thanks to the ever-growing popularity of the medium, more and more publishers and developers are looking to make their titles compatible with VR devices. The latest to throw their hat into the ring is Sega, who recently confirmed that they are considering supporting VR headsets with some of their titles – including the critically acclaimed Alien: Isolation.

There are a few mods for the game on PC that allow players to use devices such as Oculus Right but they are incredibly buggy and don’t work properly. This has left many players wanting to get an official version of the game that fully supports virtual reality.

“VR has caught the whole company’s attention,” Sony European head Jurgen Post said in an interview with MCV. “We have a lot of VR kits in the office and people are playing with it. We are exploring ways to release games. We’ve not announced anything, but we are very close to making an announcement.”

“We did Alien: Isolation about three years ago on Oculus Rift, it was a demo that was bloody scary. To bring that back to VR would be a dream and dreams can come true.”
