Alamo Drafthouse Announces Tales Of Studio Ghibli

It’s nice we live in an age where Miyazaki films seem to always be on the big screen somewhere. Fathom just finished a months-long marathon of Studio Ghibli screenings and now Alamo Drafthouse is picking up the baton, announcing a yearlong schedule of Ghibli showings throughout 2022.

Only the schedule for the first half of the year has been revealed, but it contains Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Porco Rosso and Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind. Dub and sub versions will be offered at separate screenings. Since Alamo is technically a restaurant, you can get a full meal with each showing, including the “Brunch” screenings that come with french toast, breakfast tacos, Prickly Pear Ranch Water, mimosas and more.

MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO: January 28-30
PRINCESS MONONOKE: February 26-27
NAUSICAA: March 26-27
KIKI’S DELIVERY SERVICE: April 23-24, April 27
PORCO ROSSO: May 28-June 1

The event will kick off January 29 with a brunch dub screening of My Neighbor Totoro, followed by the sub, and then followed by a repeat of the same over the next two days. Unfortunately Alamo Drafthouse locations are harder to find than theaters with Fathom Events, but locations exist in Texas, New York, California and DC.
