Yuki’s Revenge is finally coming to life, not on the big screen, but in Fortnite. This unfilmed and unanimated chapter of Kill Bill Vol. 2 has long fascinated fans, and Epic Games has partnered with Quentin Tarantino to recreate it as part of The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge event.
Originally, Quentin Tarantino wanted Kō Shibasaki to play Yuki Yubari, the younger sister of Gogo Yubari. However, the actress was unavailable. As a result, fans suggested making Yuki and Gogo twins so the role could still be filled. Despite this idea, Tarantino ultimately decided not to film the sequence because the movie was already too long. Many believe that Yuki’s Revenge would have been far more exciting than slower scenes in Kill Bill, particularly those involving Buck.
The chapter would have been iconic because the fight between The Bride and Gogo Yubari had already won the Best Fight Scene award at the MTV Movie Awards. Building on that legacy, Yuki’s Revenge could have been a spectacular addition to the film. The Fortnite adaptation already delivers visually impressive sequences that arguably look better than any of the Buck scenes in Kill Bill Vol. 2, providing a more cinematic and dynamic presentation of the action.
Interestingly, in the Fortnite trailer, Yuki Yubari seems to resemble Chiaki Kuriyama, who played Gogo in the original film. This raises the exciting possibility of a full Kill Bill chapter in Fortnite. Since the Yuki model already looks very similar to Gogo, it is likely that Epic Games could eventually introduce a Gogo Yubari model. Combined with the presence of Beatrix Kiddo in the trailer, Fortnite might expand this event into a more complete Kill Bill chapter in the future.
Now, Fortnite is adapting Yuki’s Revenge through its event called The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge. Tarantino collaborated with Epic Games to recreate the story, but the PG-13 nature of Fortnite limits the level of violence and gore. Still, players who access the available character models can recreate the chapter as machinimas once the Beatrix Kiddo model becomes available.
In the Fortnite event, Yuki Yubari appears as a schoolgirl with double pigtails, pink fingernails, and a submachine gun. She attacks Beatrix Kiddo while the bride checks into a motel. The teaser trailer begins with Beatrix, who looks exactly like Uma Thurman, closing the trunk of her truck. Yuki greets her with a sweet “konnichiwa,” and Beatrix sighs, saying, “Yuki.” Yuki replies, “Bingo.” The trailer shows her chasing the bride in a pink Cadillac while shooting, drinking a blue potion, and laughing maniacally. Other scenes depict Yuki throwing grenades, performing parkour, and interacting with Fortnite characters, adding to the chaotic “gun-fu” action.
The Fortnite event concludes with the logo for The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge. Players can claim the Yuki Yubari outfit between November 27, 9 a.m. ET, and December 1, 9 a.m. ET. Although Fortnite does not have a story mode, the available models allow fans to create machinimas that recreate this missing Kill Bill chapter.
