You Can Now Summon A Lego Version Of Dragon Ball’s Shenron

-

The core of the Dragon Ball series’ lore is that if one gathers all seven of the Dragon Balls, which are usually in hard-to-reach places, the almighty dragon Shenron can be summoned, who will grant the summoner one wish. Usually every conflict revolves around either getting the Dragon Balls or preventing someone else from getting them, if it’s not stopping aliens, robots or giant pink men from wreaking havoc.

These days it’s hard to find a popular property that doesn’t have a Lego equivalent aimed at adults with a high price tag. Dragon Ball was one of the few that didn’t until today. The set is just one of several Lego / Dragon Ball tie ins that are planned, with more to be revealed in 2027. For now, Shenron will soon be broken into 1,764 pieces and shipped in boxes around the world…and he won’t be alone.

For LEGO Dragon Ball: Shenron & Goku also comes with Goku. Kid Goku to be precise, the original. Scaled to proportionate size, he’s a dinky minifig, riding a Lego-fied version of his flying cloud. The seven Dragon Balls are also included at the base of the whole thing. When you assemble all the pieces you will have summoned Shenron, but will he materialize the underwear you’ve been wishing for?

“We’re thrilled to bring the world of Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball to life with the Lego Group,” says Masayuki Endo, president and CEO at Toei Animation. “Soon, fans around the globe will get to enjoy the iconic characters and epic adventures of Dragon Ball in a whole new way through exciting collaboration. This initial release celebrates the original ‘Dragon Ball’ episodic series – and no Dragon Ball collection will be complete without these Lego Dragon Ball products.”

LEGO Dragon Ball: Shenron & Goku will release November 1 for Lego Insiders and November 4 for everyone else. It’s worth noting Lego Insiders accounts are free. The set is definitely not, starting at $179.99.
