Kim Seon-ju, the CEO of Silver Lining, joined hands with the Bumyoung Group to manufacture and sell its self-driving car. During the beta testing phase, the CEO discovers a fatal flaw in the technology. It’s deadly! Though the driving program is set to run on a specific course, through deep learning the artificial intelligence component could “make a decision” to change the course. That change could result in a tragic car accident.
The CEO informs the executive director and asks that the launch date of the self-driving car be postponed until the programming errors are fixed. She disagrees. Why not sell the cars first and fix the problem later? The CEO knows that her decision is wreckless so he tries to get the information to the Vice-Chairman, hoping that he with do the right thing. But the executive director intercepts the delivery of the report to the Vice-Chairman and decides that the CEO needs to be eliminated. He’s interfering with her grand plans to become the Chairman. She has a team of thugs that work for her and orders them to dispose of him. But the murder attempt failed.
While being chased through the mountains by his killers, he falls and becomes unconscious. His cell phone ends up somewhere else. The killers are only concerned with removing his body, not his phone. A few days later, the phone activates on its own and the voice of the CEO starts calling for HELP! Park In-seong finds the phone and is shocked to see that the phone is talking to him. The phone is alive???
Once Park In-seong is convinced that he is indeed talking to the CEO of Silver Lining, as unbelievable as it may seem … they agree to work together. Through the phone, the CEO sends word to his employees that there is a new CEO in town. The employees of both Silver Lining and Bumyoung Group are surprised. Where did this guy come from? More importantly, where is the real CEO? The people who tried to kill him are totally confused. Clearly, they can’t admit their evil intentions. But they know where the real CEO is and they also know he can’t talk. So who is really talking and making these decisions for the tech company?
One more thing. Jung Se-yeon was the CEO’s personal assistant. She thought that she was going to have to look for another job. But Park In-seong agrees to keep her because the CEO via the phone, says she is trustworthy nd she does her job well. Initially, Jung Se-yeon is suspicious. She thinks Park In-seong either knows where the CEO is or worse, he murdered him! Eventually, Park In-seong has to let her in on the secret that the CEO is alive and living inside a phone.
OK! Once Jung Se-yeon gets over her hurdle of amazement and disbelief, she and Park In-seong become a team. They work together to solve the mystery of Kim Seon-ju’s disappearance and in the process, they uncover lots of dirty deeds done in the name of corporate power and greed.
My rating for “Unlock My Boss” is 9 out of 10 stars.
AI, AR, VR (artificial intelligence, augmented reality, virtual reality) are technological advancements that are becoming more and more ubiquitous. If you are not very familiar with these tech tools, this series is an introductory course on their practical application in everyday life.
That’s one of the reasons my rating is so high. The other reason is that the cast worked really well together. The child actress, Gi So-you, especially gets high marks. It certainly looks like she is on the path to a successful acting career.
