The wait for the second season of Robert Kirkman’s excellent animated adaption of his equally excellent comic book is almost over. However, even when it does premiere, Amazon is planning to drag it out as long as possible. Season 2 of Invincible is eight episodes long, but Amazon is only giving us four this November, and holding the other four until an unspecified time in early 2024. Come on, Bezos, have a heart for once.
Speaking of sinister people, this trailer suggests in the wake of his father’s path of destruction, Mark’s greatest fear is that he’ll become the next Omni-Man without even realizing it. To that we say….how oblivious would you have to be to get as bad as THAT guy? Omni-Man proved himself to be one of THE most evil beings in the universe the last time we saw him; he believes all life is worthless unless it’s as strong as he is. Mark isn’t even remotely in the zone of that thought pattern. The end of this trailer implies Mark possibly DOES turn evil, but we think it’s a misdirection.
Invincible Season 2 will star the voices of everyone from Season 1, including Steven Yeun as the title character, Sandra Oh as his mother. Gillian Jacobs as Atom Eve…plus Zazie Beetz, Grey DeLisle, Chris Diamantopoulos, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells, Kevin Michael Richardson, Seth Rogen and of course, J.K. Simmons as Omni-Man.
Four fresh episodes of Invincible finally premiere November 3.
