Nintendo wants more people to start following their news feed, and so starting today, they’re offering bribes. If you have a Switch, you most likely also have The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. And if you do, reading today’s BotW-related newspost will give you two free items in the game when you boot it up.
Hidemaro Fujibayashi, director of BotW, is giving out simple gameplay tips and each one will come with a giveaway meant to aid you in trying them out. The first one was posted today and mentions the trick of feeding a dog to convince it to trust you. Once it does, the dog will most likely lead you somewhere, dig into the ground and pull out some treasure.
To help you perform this trick yourself, once you switch to the game Link will have an apple and a piece of meat at his feet. They’re both pretty common items you could have tracked down yourself in about two minutes tops, but if you find a horse stable and give them to the dog wandering around, you may be able to exchange this prize for something better.
We suspect most of the giveaways these newsposts generate will be small-time prizes along these lines. We’d like to be proven wrong and wake up with five free Guardian Arrows, but we’re not holding our breath (of the wild).
