Remember that Ninja Turtles / Naruto crossover IDW said they were doing? The first issue gained a lot of attention even before its release for just being what it is, but the media spotlight doesn’t always equal high sales. except in this case. Issue #1 released last November, and did well enough that they’re releasing it again.
When TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES x NARUTO #1 hits shelves again next Match, the inner content will be the same, but the cover will be different – a new illustration by Jorge Corona. Here’s what that looks like:

Caleb Goellner (IDW’s Sonic the Hedgehog) wrote this story and and Hendry Prasetya (IDW’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) created the art. The premise is that the Turtles simply exist in ancient Japan, and so does April O’Neil. She has a meeting with Lady Tsunade, which attracts the curiosity of Naruto and his friends — and also the Foot Clan. Soon it’s an all-out brawl between the heroes and enemies of both worlds (or in this continuity, the same world).
“It doesn’t just take a village to hit a milestone like this, in the case of issue #1 going back for a second printing, it took two,” joked Goellner. “In 2024, I met hundreds of fans at signings across America who love the residents of Hidden Leaf Village just as much as Big Apple Village, and I’ve still got a smile on my face for it. I gotta say a resounding ‘Thank you!’ to everyone who has supported this dream book so far. See you soon in 2025 for more friendship, struggles, and Hendry Prasetya art victories!”
“This crossover is a true testament to the power of fandoms uniting, TMNT and Naruto coming together has not only captivated hearts but also shattered expectations,” added Aub Driver, VP of Marketing at IDW Publishing. “We’re thrilled to see such incredible support, and the second printing is a perfect chance for even more fans to join the adventure.”
If you missed it the first time, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES x NARUTO will return March 12. Oh, and this is hardly the first crossover the TMNT have ever been in….look for their Batman, Street Fighter and Stranger Things crossovers while you’re at the comic shop.
