We take it the new Ahsoka show is doing well for Disney. Otherwise they wouldn’t be offering such a wild bonus next week: if you live near a participating theater, you have the option of seeing Episode 5 on the big screen at the time of premiere, though the window is tight.
We don’t just mean the fact that it premieres in a matter of days, we mean just one theater per city is getting this privilege. The event is being held in coordination with AMC and the ten participating cities are Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington DC. And according to the website…..ALL tickets are sold out in those locations, though there is a waitlist.
Disney isn’t telling us what happens in Episode 5, so all we have to go on is what happened in Episode 4. Desperate to be reunited with Ezra Bridger above all else, Sabine willingly surrendered the map sphere and she was then taken prisoner by the baddies as they hyper-blasted across the universe. Our heroes would seemingly have no way to catch them now, were it not for Ahsoka falling into the World Between Worlds — and meeting a familiar face.
The World Between Worlds is a crossover point of the Force where all of space and time can be accessed. It was part of an episode in Star Wars Rebels; Ezra visited the place and used it to rescue Ahsoka from Vader. It seems she may return the favor now, but not before having a chat with Vader first.
The vast majority of us will be watching Ahsoka traditionally this Tano Tuesday at 9 PM Eastern / 6 PM Pacific, on Disney+. If you are one of the rare few who landed the other kind of experience, congratulations.
