♦ STORYLINE:

THE DOG STARS (2026) is set in a bleak, post-apocalyptic America. Hig (played by Jacob Elordi) is a former civilian pilot who has survived a catastrophic flu pandemic that wiped out nearly all of humanity. Living in the hangar of an abandoned airport with his loyal dog, Hig spends his days flying perimeter checks in his vintage 1956 Cessna, fishing, and clinging to memories of the world he lost, including his wife. His only human companion is Bangley (played by Josh Brolin), a hardened ex-Marine whose survival instincts are as sharp as his distrust of outsiders.

Their fragile existence changes when a mysterious radio transmission breaks through the static. Hig’s hope that life beyond their isolated refuge may still be possible is re-ignited. Against Bangley’s warnings, Hig risks everything to fly farther than ever before. Even though he is searching for a haven that may or may not exist.

The journey forces Hig to confront both the brutality and the beauty of what possibly remains of humanity. Of course! Humanity can’t just survive an apocalypse, and only the nice, peaceful people live to build a new world. New allies, new threats, and the same survivalist tension.
