Star Trek: Lower Decks may be over, along with Paramount‘s interest in making Trek content in general, but you can relive the memories from the seasons that exist in this upcoming artbook from IDW. Note that this is the same company who’s keeping the flame alive by publishing an ongoing comic book version of Lower Decks, which it has yet to cancel.
The book serves as a companion to the series overall, filled with never before revealed designs and sketches from the production crew along with stories from behind the scenes. “Complete with exclusive commentary from the art team, this collection reveals the passion, humor, and behind-the-scenes stories that power the Lower Decks universe,” says IDW.
• Meet the Lower Deckers: Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford, and Tendi, see how their personalities shaped their look and feel.
• Command with the Bridge Crew: Captain Freeman, Ransom, Dr. T’Ana, and Shaxs, brought to life through bold concept art and expressive character studies.
• Explore the Cerritos: From the bridge to the bar, engineering to the transporter bay, witness the creativity behind every corner of Starfleet’s hardest-working ship.
• Relive unforgettable episodes with in-depth breakdowns of characters, ships, and locations that make Lower Decks a one-of-a-kind Trek experience.
There’s more: IDW is offering a limited edition signed exclusive with an alternate cover and the authentic autographs of author Megan Treviño and series creator Mike McMahan. It costs more to get, of course, but it’s only offered for a limited time. The limited edition can be ordered now exclusively through the IDW website for $99.99; the regular edition costs $49.99. Both go on sale May 4.
