What adds to the intrigue is that women, despite the common assumption that they are not drawn to violent content, actually constitute the largest audience for true crime.

In the case of Susie Searches, a young girl yearns for her podcast to gain viral status, hoping that fame will elevate her social standing at school because she wants to be known. Susie (Kiersey Clemons) , a shy and awkward teen girl, desires popularity and strives to make her true crime podcast mainstream. When a boy named Jesse is kidnapped, it creates the perfect opportunity. Although not a professional detective, Susie actively searches for clues in this mysterious case. She successfully rescues Jesse, instantly transforming into a celebrity and earning the nickname “Nancy Drew” in her hometown.
As her podcast goes viral, Susie becomes the most popular girl in school. Everyone desires to befriend the hometown hero. She even lands television interviews.However, Susie harbors a dark secret. She is the real kidnapper, which is how she managed to solve the case.

Susie acknowledges that her secret being exposed will cause her newfound fame to disappear.  She is willing to  unalive anyone who tries to reveal the truth. Mark your calendars for the release of “Susie Searches” in theaters on July 28, 2023.
