SpongeBob Squarepants Is In A Jam

-

Two years ago, developer Tilting Point released SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off on mobile devices, The game, mainly about cooking Krabby Patties, was a massive hit and spread from mobile to console to PC, and received a physical edition this past February. This made future collaborations between Tilting Point and Nickelodeon inevitable, and so they’re giving the SpongeBob property a second go — this time with something a bit more substantial.

The situation behind SpongeBob Adventures: In a Jam! is a bit more dire than in the first game. Seems in his latest attempt to steal the Krabby Patty formula, Plankton wound up destroying the entire town. All of Bikini Bottom is now covered in sticky jam and is uninhabitable. As SpongeBob, your job is now to rebuild everything.

So SpongeBob Adventures: In a Jam! is mostly a building sim, where the show’s main cast travels to different locations like Jellyfish Fields, New Kelp City and Atlantis to gather ingredients, farm to grow others, and craft the material necessary to fix their homes. They will interact with NPCs along the way like Mr. Krabs, Squidward, King Jellyfish, Kevin C. Cucumber, Gary and others, who can offer materials or advice.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to continue our longstanding relationship with Nickelodeon, Paramount Consumer Products and Whaleapp by bringing another SpongeBob game to mobile players,” said Kevin Segalla, CEO and Founder of Tilting Point. “After the wildly successful SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off, we’re looking to recreate that magic with SpongeBob Adventures: In a Jam! We can’t wait to hear fans’ thoughts about the game and see how high that pre-registration number reaches.”

Like the man said, SpongeBob Adventures: In a Jam! is open for pre-registration now. It will launch on mobile later this year, and if it does well, perhaps elsewhere.
