After the destruction of their home planet, aliens from Schlorp scattered around the universe looking for new worlds to terraform into homes. Four of them hit a snag along the way and crashed onto an already overpopulated planet (this one). Now they’re stranded, more or less, and have to learn to get along as a family. This is difficult because Korvo and Terry are…..SOLAR OPPOSITES.
The previous season of Solar Opposites left the alien family on a cliffhanger where they were forced to live normal domestic lives or face the Pupa’s wrath. It remains to be revealed how they’ll get out of that one. The SDCC trailer released today doesn’t provide any real hints, but it does imply things go back to normal eventually…with the exception of one element.
You may have noticed Korvo’s voice sounds a bit different. That’s because his original VA, Justin Roiland, was fired and had to be replaced. They ended up using Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens as the new voice, and explained the change this way (in case you haven’t seen this, it isn’t the SDCC trailer, it’s something that was released last month. To find the SDCC trailer, keep scrolling.)
Neitehr rain nor sleet nor scandal involving their creator nor Hollywood strike can stop the Solar Opposites; at least one more season is guaranteed after this one as well as another holiday special (this one for Valentine’s Day). Enjoy this blast of clips from the upcoming season and make your preparations now for August 14.
