Looking for something for your friends to do? Why not become dinosaurs? You’ll have the option soon enough…when Run Raptor Run!, a new tabletop party game, is published by Mana Project Studio.
Seems periodically, there’s a cross-dimensional event where raptors from all over the multiverse gather and compete to determine which is the best. That measure of worthiness takes the form of a fast-paced track race, on an ever-changing and trap-laden playfield, where any moves are allowed no matter how violent. Each raptor in the game will have its own design and colorful personality; they are reportedly all based on celebrities.
Run, Raptor, Run! is a Roleplaying Party Game in which you’ll play raptors racing across the multiverse, avoiding lethal obstacles of all kinds, running through ever-changing and spectacular racetracks that defy the laws of physics.
We feel like we really need to see what they’re talking about to get a grasp on it. Are the racing tracks in our head, or will they be physically there? We do know card-based gameplay is involved, that’s how you know what raptor you are. Mana Project says players will “face a circuit composed of ever-changing tiles, full of deadly traps and thrilling perils, which will allow them to accumulate magical artifacts in a brutal, cartoonish and ultraviolent race.”
Run Raptor Run! will support up to six players, but requires one serve as the Game Master. We should learn more about what this is when its Kickstarter launches in the near future.
