One Piece Day Is Coming….Here’s What’s Planned

-

The folks who bring you all things One Piece — Shueisha, Toei Animation and Bandai Namco (makers of the games) — have designated one day in late August to commemorate the franchise and reveal what’s next for it. What’s confusing is that last year they said One Piece Day was August 11. This year they’re celebrating it across two days, August 22 and 23, and won’t say which is the actual day. You pick a day and you stick to it…that’s how this usually works, guys.

This year’s celebration will be held at the Makuhari Messe in Japan, but you don’t have to go there…it’ll be livestreamed around the world. The livestream will include the latest announcements from the franchise, appearances from music groups AINA THE END and 36km/h (who sang the latest versions of the opening and closing themes) and live performances by Hiroshi Kitadani and Maki Otsuki.

Events include a worldwide popularity poll, which is open for voting now through the One Piece Base app, and will have its results announced during the stream. Plus there will be a voice cast panel featuring Mayumi Tanaka (Monkey D. Luffy), Kazuya Nakai (Roronoa Zoro), Akemi Okamura (Nami), Kappei Yamaguchi (Usopp), Hiroaki Hirata (Sanji), Ikue Ōtani (Tony Tony Chopper), Yuriko Yamaguchi (Nico Robin), Subaru Kimura (Franky), Katsuhisa Houki (Jinbe), Tsuyoshi Koyama (Hajrudin), Eiji Takemoto (Stansen), Ayane Sakura (Gerd), Masaya Takatsuka (Goldberg), Ryota Takeuchi (Rodo) and Kenjiro Tsuda (Saint Shamrock)

The English-language livestream on YouTube will be emceed by Maxwell Powers, with guest Kate J and Anya reporting from the venue. Bookmark this address to watch the One Piece Day 2026 livestream on YouTube August 22-23.
