Song Soo-jung (played by Gong Seung-yeon) is a popular South Korean actress. Wait! Popular?? Oh! Excuse me. She’s a Top Star! An Idol! An important distinction that she continuously makes clear to EVERYONE!
Her current acting project is the leading role in a K-drama about Princess Pyunggang. During a scene she finds out that Princess Pyunggang has a sister. A sister? You mean another actress that she has to share the spotlight with? Oh no! Furiously, she demands to know: Who made that plot change and why?
It turns out that the young lady playing the part of the sister is the girlfriend of the boyfriend of Song Soo-jung. In other words, he’s a cheating two-timer and he had not yet told her that their relationship was pretty much over!
After learning about her cheating boyfriend and why the princess now has a sister, Song Soo-jung angrily walks off the set. She refuses to continue acting her part, and jumps inside a van named “Boong Boong”. It’s a time travel van. Who knew? This van sets a GPS destination and takes her through a time portal. In an instant she is transported back in time to the real period in the history of Goryeo where she will meet the real Princess Pyeonggang and the real General On Dal. How will the fictional princess “act” in a real-life historical 6th-century Korean kingdom?
According to history, the real Princess Pyeonggang falls in love with marries the real General On Dal.
The problem is: Song Soo-jung, the fake Princess Pyeonggang meets and falls in love with the real On Dal (played by Lee Jong-hyun). What’s worse? He falls in love with her. That relationship starts messing up the historical record!

Did I mention that “Boong Boong” had wings? (Like is said: “unbelievably ridiculous and silly!”)
Byun Sam-yong (played by Lee Jae-jin) is the manager for the actress and helps her maintain her Top Star celebrity status. When Song Soo-jung starts yelling and screaming about the rewritten script, he hides in the van and does not make his presence known until he’s sure it’s safe to come outside. You can’t blame him for remaining hidden. If the first thing you saw when you peeked out the window, was how criminals were violently punished for their crimes in Goguryeo, you would not reveal yourself either! Who’s to say you won’t get your head chopped off? (Or … maybe some other precious part of your anatomy.)
The average audience rating for the Korean dramedy series was 4.7 out of 5 stars.
How would I rate this series? Uuhh … I’d give it two thumbs up!
(If you watch this series, you’ll understand the rating. LOL.)
