Publishers PID Games and PixelHeart and developer Squidbit Works have brought to life Lords Of Exile, an 8-bit-styled sidescrolling action platformer now available for modern consoles and the PC.
You play as either Gabriel or Lyria, cursed knights from the Far East who are fighting to save the Lands of Exilia from invading samurai and hideous monsters. Each boss you defeat will earn them a power-up that will let them take on the next set of challenges, but that won’t make things easy. Two additional game modes, Speedrunner and Bosh Rush, are unlockable after you beat the game as Gabriel.
“I can say that I feel very good and proud of the work done,” says Carlos Azuaga, creator of Lords Of Exile. “I deeply appreciate the support received, which morally gave me the necessary energy to conclude this experience. It has always been my dream; I enjoy video games a lot, but creating my own as an independent developer was a challenge. Although difficult, I demonstrated that it is not impossible. In summary, it’s all about putting in a lot of effort and remembering that the goal arrives someday.”
You can find Lords Of Exile starting today on Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, XBox Series X|S, XBox One and PC.
