Loot Studios is one of the companies designed to meet this new need — they specialize in 3D printable tabletop figures and their latest offering is….one big hombre.
Presenting Izat’al, Dragon Empress — one of the most immense statues Loot Studios has ever offered. Imagine how your buddies will react when this giant multi-headed creature makes its presence known on the table. It’s so big that it has to be printed in pieces — some assembly is required, but it’s worth it. The dragon is inspired by Tiamat, a monster from Mesopotamian mythology that has its own established D&D variant.
Izat’al is part of the Rise of Draconians set, which comes with its own 30-page digital minibook of backstory for worldbuilding. The bundle also includes printable hero characters like Syndra Burrfoot, Abras Elernam and Alart the Spearknight, eight environment elements, four busts, and eight other (smaller) Draconian enemies, which are all explained in the book.
According to Loot Studios’ lore, the Dragon Empress Izat’al is a six-headed deity-like dragon who rose to power in the volcanic land of Shaldrak. Her origins are shrouded in mystery, with legends suggesting she was either an experiment of an elder entity, a mutation from a cursed draconic lineage, or a divine being. She was summoned centuries ago by the draconians, who were losing their homeland to other races. Emerging from deep lava pits, Izat’al brought destruction, wiping out other civilizations and solidifying draconian rule over Shaldrak. Her immense power and tyranny led to her being revered by draconians and feared by all others.
Izat’al’s rule was marked by cruelty, with frequent sacrifices made in her honor. Her six heads represented an unstoppable force of chaos, and she became the embodiment of draconian supremacy. However, a coalition of five heroes devised a plan to trap rather than kill the Dragon Empress, as she was a divine entity immune to conventional defeat. Using the Orb of Dragonkind, they imprisoned her in an arcane prison, bringing peace to Shaldrak for centuries.
Despite her imprisonment, loyal draconian followers worked in secret to free her. Eventually, they succeeded, and Izat’al returned, seeking revenge and aiming to reclaim Shaldrak and dominate all realms. Her resurgence reignited ancient conflicts, compelling the descendants of the original heroes to rise against her once more. These new champions, alongside defectors like Imayn, a former loyalist who grew disillusioned with Izat’al’s destruction, now face the daunting task of confronting the reborn Empress.
The heroes opposing Izat’al are descendants of the original champions who sealed her away. Each carries unique skills and a legacy tied to the Dragon Empress’s downfall. From Lien, a ranger trained to honor his family’s legacy, to Imayn, a former loyalist turned rebel, they unite against Izat’al’s resurgence. Together, they face their greatest challenge: living up to their ancestors’ heroic feats to protect the realms from devastation.
Loot Studios specializes in creating highly detailed, 3D-printable miniature files (STL files) for tabletop role-playing games (RPGs).
