Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Confirmed

We don’t suppose there was any doubt that the Jujutsu Kaisen anime would be continuing, but it was confirmed by studio MAPPA almost immediately after the last episode of Season 2 was released in Japan. No specific release date was announced for it, but….Season 2 just ended, so it won’t be tomorrow.

The series is about Yuji Itadori, a high school student who excels in athletic activities and is otherwise normal….at first. But one day he finds himself catapulted into the world of the supernatural when he has to save his friend from a deadly curse. The only way to cure the boy is to eat a cursed object called “Sukuna’s Finger,” which just means that HE gets a curse instead. He’s now got a powerful spirit sharing his body, and though that means he gets to access the spirit’s powers, it also means he’s going to have to leave his place of education and instead hit the books at Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, which specializes in training folks under a situation like his.

Season 2 just wrapped up the Shibuya Incident arc, which had Itadori and pals facing off against twisted sorcerer Kenjaku. MAPPA has hinted Season 3 will start following the manga’s Cullin Game arc. There are two mini-arcs between Shibuya and Cullin Game, though, and it’s unknown if the anime will be adapting those in any way.

All current seasons of Jujutsu Kaisen, along with the movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0, are bingeable on Crunchyroll.
