Inside Out 2 has been a wild success for Disney and Pixar, to the point that we’re surprised to be hearing about a home video release this soon. You can own the film as soon as a week from now (if you’re the type who prefers digital to physical). We’ll have to see whether or not this takes a bite out of box office sales, which continue to be strong.
Even if you haven’t seen the film yet, you should know the basic plot through all the trailers and promotion: Riley is growing, and there are some new arrivals at Emotion Central: Anxiety (Maya Hawke), Envy (Ayo Edibiri) and Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos). They join the cast of Amy Poehler as Joy, Lewis Black as Anger, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Tony Hale as Fear and Liza Lapira as Disgust, whether they like it or not.
Both the digital and physical versions of Inside Out 2 will come loaded with the bonuses below (but annoyingly, no feature commentary, the main reason I’m likely to buy a movie).
Bonus Features*
*Bonus features may vary by product and retailer
Inside Out 2 will be released August 20 on digital, September 10 on Blu-Ray and DVD.
