Frost Fatales Begins Another Charity Speedrun Sunday

The next main Games Done Quick charity marathon isn’t for another few months, but someone’s filling the gap: Frame Fatales is a spinoff that runs between regular GDQs and consists of just female gamers. They run two marathons per year: Frost Fatales at the end of winter, and Flame Fatales at the end of summer. It’s now officially the end of winter — I can see the tree blossoms beginning to sprout from my window — so Frost Fatales marathon begins anew. All proceeds generated from the marathon will once again benefit the National Women’s Law Center.

The difference between this and the main GDQ marathon, aside from the focus on women, is that it doesn’t run 24 hours per day. Each day of Frost Fatales will begin at around 9:30 AM Pacific / 12:30 PM Eastern and conclude twelve hours later at 9:30 PM  12:30 AM. But a lot will be packed into those seven days: scheduled speedruns start with Red Dead Redemption 2, Yars Rising, Lost Judgment, Sonic R, and a Skyward Sword Randomizer Co-Op on the first day.

Highlights through the week include Sonic Frontiers, An Airport For Aliens Currently Run By Dogs (this is its second GDQ appearance if you’ve been counting), Jet Set Radio Future, Diablo II, Plants Vs Zombies, Silent Hill f, Resident Evil Village, Tunic, Hollow Knight, Super Mario Odyssey, Chrono Cross, Clash At Demonhead, Pokemon Legends Z-A, Link’s Awakening DX, the ALF Sega Master System game, and finally, Titanfall 2 on the evening of March 14. Check out the full schedule through this link.

The National Women’s Law Center is an organization that represents gender justice in the courts, public policy, and society. Their goal is to repair imbalances in the justice system that affect women, particularly women of color, LGBTQ people and low-income women and families. This is Frost Fatales’ third marathon benefiting the NWLC.

You’ll be able to watch Frost Fatales on the regular GDQ Twitch channel live, and catch up on the runs separately as they’re uploaded to the GDQ archive on YouTube. Frost Fatales begins Sunday, March 8 and runs through Saturday, March 14.
