Four (4) Reasons Tubi TV is My Fave FAST Service for Kdramas

FAST means Free Ad-Supported Streaming. In the USA there are at least four (4) free ad-supported streaming platforms that you can GO-TO for Korean dramas.

1) Tubi TV, Owned by: Fox Entertainment (Rupert Murdoch) (Launched: April 2014)

(2) Pluto TV, Owned by: Operated by the Paramount Streaming division of Paramount Global. (Launched: March 2014)

(3) The Roku Channel, Owned by: Roku, Inc. (Launched: September 2017)

(4) Freevee, Owned by: Amazon (Launched: January 2019)

Being a K-drama addict, I tried them all. In the end, Tubi TV came out on top.

First: Tubi has a specific category – K-Drama + – that you can easily search and find something to watch. For many of the other platforms, you have to comb through their database and searching is just too much work!
Second: Tubi has a library of K-Content by CJ ENM. CJ ENM is a leading entertainment company in South Korea, producing and distributing a wide range of content, including K-pop, TV series, movies, reality shows, etc. They made a deal with Tubi (and with other streaming platforms). If I want to watch K-dramas distributed by CJ ENM (and there are a lot of them), I can easily search Tubi’s library.
Third: A lot of the Korean content is recent, meaning released in 2020 and forward. Many films and TV shows go way back to even before 2000; hidden gems. They have (in my opinion) an awesome selection of movies. EVERY GENRE!! They have even more movies than the paid streaming platforms.

NOTE: I use the Chrome browser. Type “Korean dramas” in the search box. When the results appear, narrow it down to “movies” and “Tubi”. It will break down the movies by genre and even show you the “Top K-drama movie picks on Tubi”. You can do the same thing if you’re searching for a TV series. Sometimes, for me, this is easier than going to the streaming platform and browsing the K-Drama + category OR the K-Content by CJ ENM library.
