Everything Announced During The September Nintendo Direct

This morning, at a time when most of us were asleep ( 7 AM Pacific), Nintendo streamed out their latest Direct, detailing everything they have planned for the 2022 holiday season and beyond. As we usually do, we’ve taken notes on the entire video and created this list, in chronological order, of the Switch lineup revealed. (There were an unusually large number of farming sims this year.)

Radiant Silvergun — Today
There’s always some game that launches on Direct Day. This classic shooter isn’t a bad surprise.

Various Daylife — Today

Tunic — September 27
You thought Tunic was there already, didn’t you? I feel like a physical is inevitable, though it will probably be through a limited print outlet.

Life is Strange: Arcadia Bay Collection — September 27
Note to those interested in the physical edition: The first game will be on the cart, Before The Storm will be a download.

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope — October 20

Bayonetta 3– October 28
The below trailer wasn’t all the Bayonetta Nintendo had today — they just sectioned off a special expose from the Direct itself due to M-rated language. Find it here.

Resident Evil Village — October 28
Don’t get too excited, it’s a “Cloud Version” you can’t play without wifi, and that will eventually vanish the inevitable day Capcom turns the server off.

Factorio — October 28
Destined to be overshadowed by bigger releases.

Harvestella — November 4
Demo available today!

It Takes Two — November 4
Significant other required. Forever alone types not permitted to play!

Sifu — November 8

Just Dance 22 — November 22

Front Mission 1st –November 2022
To be followed by Front Mission 2 in 2023 and Front Mission 3 beyond that.

Tales Of Symphonia Remastered — Early 2023
This game has been presented in HD before — on the PS3, and it had Tales Of Symphonia 2 on the disc. Where is it now?

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse — Early 2023
Fans used to beg for these and get no response. The Wii U Fatal Frame never came out in America.

Atelier Ryza 3 — February 24, 2023
The Atelier series has had something like 30 entries by now (I can’t be precise but that sounds about right), each with a different Atelier. But somehow, Ryza has become a big hit for them, to the point that they’re producing an unprecedented third game starring her. If you doubt me, go look up the physical price of Ryza 1. You can’t afford it.

Fitness Boxing: Fist Of The North Star — March 2023
The biggest “Huh?” game of the Direct. These stars of the ultraviolent manga help you keep fit.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom — May 12, 2023
This is what Breath of the Wild 2 will henceforth be known as. The UK arm of Nintendo actually skipped the Direct “due to recent events” and now people are wondering if they got nervous about revealing this title at this specific time in history. If so, they overreacted.
