Dune: Prophecy Renewed For Second Season

No one knows if The Penguin will get a second season, but it looks like an HBO show based on a different movie will. Ahead of its season finale this Sunday, WB and HBO have announced Dune Prophecy will continue on. Max claims that globally, the first episode brought in 15 million viewers, which must mean those are the highest numbers the season has received so far — but I guess we have one more to go.

Dune: Prophecy is set in the same world as the two films that came out recently, albeit 10,000 years before the existence of their main character Paul Atreides. The show is about two Harkonnen sisters battling forces that threaten the future of humankind as they establish the foundation of the Bene Gesserit, the overseeing organization of Paul’s time. Dune: Prophecy is based around Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s novel Sisterhood of Dune, but isn’t an exact adaption.

Dune: Prophecy stars Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Camilla Beeput, Jihae, Tabu, Charithra Chandran, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning, Yerin Ha, and Barbara Marten.
