Dragonbane Bestiary Targeted For February 27 Release

-

Dragonbane was released by Free League last year: a remake of a classic Swedish TTRPG that’s been made available globally for the first time. The game’s first expansion was announced a couple months later: Dragonbane Bestiary, an additional volume that will introduce 63 additional monsters to the roster.

The creatures of Dragonbane Bestiary are brought to life by artists Johan Egerkrans and David Brasgalla. The book will contain info for nine new playable kin, each with their own unique ability, and as with Dragonbane itself, there will be both physical and digital versions of the Bestiary book. The physical will be available both in a standard edition and in a premium Collector’s Edition with a faux leather cover and gold foil print.

An optional, but snazzy cardboard Standee Set will include all the creatures of the Bestiary, for use on a battle map that will be released the same day. A hardback version of the Dragonbane Rulebook is also coming, and like the Bestiary it too will be produced in a standard edition and a Collector’s Edition with a faux leather cover and gold foil print. Contents will be the same for the Rulebook, with the exception of an extra introductory adventure, The Castle of the Robber Knight.

Note that the game engine that Dragonbane runs on has been made open for fair use, and you are free to create your own DB-compatible product full of monsters if you don’t like these. But…give ’em a chance first, they worked hard on this. Dragonbane Bestiary and everything that has to do with it will be out February 27; preorders are open now in the Free League webshop.
