DC just revealed everything it plans to release in the month of October. Here are the highlights…
It had to happen. With DC’s parent company Warner Bros holding the movie rights to King Kong and Godzilla (in the US) it was only a matter of time before the two most well-known characters in kaiju history clashed with the Justice League. How’d they arrive in the DCU and what’s their goal? Find out in this 40-page issue written by Brian Buccellato with art by Christian Duce.
The most recent run of Superman is #7, but if you counted them all you’d get #850, so just this month they’re sticking the proper number there so they have the excuse to put out a special 48-page issue. But be aware this is not a stand-alone storyline; it’s the latest chapter in Supe’s “The Chained” story. Supeman #850 comes out October 17.
Amazons Attack….Again! How many times have the denizens of Themascyra been driven to combat? How many times has a story with this premise used that title? It’s happening once more, but this time the plot is a little more sympathetic toward the Amazons as they (including Wonder Woman) have been banned from Man’s World and are simply fighting for their right to exist. The firsr issue goes on sale October 24, with a prequel story to appear in the back of Wonder Woman #2 one week earlier.
Here are some familiar faces and names whom you might not have seen in a while, at least with their own books. Jay Garrick’s Flash has reappeared and he’s getting a six-issue story to himself where he reunites with his lost daughter. Another six-issue story will spotlight Alan Scott’s Green Lantern, written by Tim Sheridan. And Wesley Dodd’s Sandman will also get a book, in which he has to hunt down and retrieve his book of rejected sleep gas formulas before they fall into the wrong hands (they were rejected because they kill people). These books come out October 17th, 24th and 10th respectively.
Lastly, the seventh and final issue of Unstoppable Doom Patrol comes out in October. Will we ever see them again? Depends on how many of you bought this one. DC’s full list of titles lies below.
