Crunchyroll’s Next Anime Blu-Rays Include Trigun Stampede, Gundam

By Peter Paltridge - June 14, 2024

Crunchyroll has announced its September physical media release schedule, and there are some heavy hitters here. The headliner is the Blu-Ray debut of Trigun Stampede, the CG remake of the classic 90s anime that debuted last year.

Trigun Stampede will be released in standard and limited editions; both will include the following special features on the disc:

Behind-The-Scenes Production Cast Interviews
CG Making-of Video
Promo Videos
Commercials
Teaser
Textless Opening and Ending Songs

But if you spring for the Limited Edition, you’ll get some of the more interesting “feelies” we’ve seen stuffed into an anime release. The box contains a Project SEEDS patch, two coasters from the Jenora Rock Saloon, three art cards of Vash, Wolfwood and Knives, and your very own 12×18 copy of the Bernardelli Times, containing crew interviews and more.

September is also the month Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury hits Blu-Ray — both seasons 1 and 2 at once. “A.S. (Ad Stella) 122― An era when a multitude of corporations have entered space and built a huge economic system,” reads the official description. “A lone girl from the remote planet Mercury transfers to the Asticassia School of Technology, run by the Beneritt Group which dominates the mobile suit industry. Her name is Suletta Mercury. With a scarlet light burning in her pure heart, this girl walks step by step through a new world.” Bonus features on both sets will include textless opening and ending songs, plus promo videos.

Other releases planned for September include Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island, Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 3, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Part 1, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Movie – Scarlet Bond, and Ranking of Kings: The Treasure Chest of Courage.
