Core Keeper is set to launch its 1.0 update on August 27, bringing major new content and features to the popular mining sandbox adventure game. Developed by Pugstorm and published by Fireshine Games, the update will be available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4.
The 1.0 update introduces several exciting features, including PvP functionality, a revamped world generation system, and a new biome called The Passage. Players will also encounter two new combat styles, the Mage and Warlock builds, along with new skill trees, equipment, enemies, bosses, and the concluding chapter of the main story.
Prepare for an entirely new way to generate your underground world, with player-customizable parameters for features, resources, terrain, and more. Prefer your cave system to be more like an ocean? No problem. Turn rivers and lakes up to Extreme to generate a world surrounded by water. The introduction of World Seeds will also let players easily share their generated world designs with friends.
The new world generation feature replaces Core Keeper’s existing system. While legacy worlds will still be playable at the launch of 1.0, Early Access players are encouraged to begin a new world to experience the game’s complete set of features.
Discover extraordinary secrets and witness the conclusive chapter to Core Keeper’s main story arc. Following their battles with the Titans and uncovering the remnants of ancient Caveling technologies, Explorers will finally get to unearth the secret of the Core and behold the phenomenon behind their teleportation to Core Keeper’s mysterious ancient world.
Coming at the launch of 1.0, Core Keeper’s new PvP functionality lets friends become foes to battle it out for supremacy in the underground. Designed as an entirely optional feature, PvP can be toggled on or off directly from the pause menu. Assign teams or be the last Explorer standing in this competitive new playstyle. Will you live peacefully alongside your cavernous companions, or build up your base to skirmish with rival cave dwellers?
Venture deep into The Passage, an eerie new endgame biome for experienced Core Keeper players. Navigate The Passage’s mysterious otherworldly forests and hazardous sulfuric vegetation to encounter unusual new threats, mine the brand new resource Pandorium, and discover new crafting stations to create advanced weapons and equipment.
The update introduces two new Explorer types: the Mage and Warlock. Each comes with new skill trees, equipment, weapons, and a ‘Mana’ resource. Mages can unleash magical attacks, while Warlocks summon minions to fight by their side.
Players will face multiple new bosses, including Druidra, Cryodra, and Pyrdra, each providing unique challenges. New enemies and advanced equipment will enhance the gameplay experience in the ancient underground world. The update includes new pets, such as the Pheromoth and Snugglygrade, a new cattle type called the Dodo, and unique marine life in The Passage. Players can relax with fishing, discover new Waypoints, and much more.
A Collector’s Edition of Core Keeper is available for preorder, featuring the base game, all DLCs, exclusive artwork, a replica Sign of Ruin talisman, a double-sided poster, a map, a compendium of all fish, a message in a bottle, and a metal doubloon coin. Priced at £99.99/€99.99/$99.99, it will be available in the USA, Europe, and Australasia. A Complete Edition, including all content from Blackstone Key, The Pale Reach, and The Iron Rig, will also be available digitally on August 27.
